Courtesy Visit to the Registrar, NECO
The ISERT team paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar of National Examination Council (NECO) at the headquarters. He was acquainted with the ISERT past and current activities as well as the training workshops. The Registrar commended ISERT passion for FLHE. He acknowledged that FLHE is an essential aspect of education for young people. He went through the contents of the ISERT report and the FLHE materials handed to him and affirmed that the contents were well structured and easy to adapt. He however raised the issue of sustainability. The team explained that such was one of the essence of the trainings at zonal and national levels in which stakeholders at various levels – ANCOPPS, Desk Officers, SACA, relevant NGOs, etc. were trained, as well as ISERT’s collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education. Regarding the prospects that ISERT programming has for building the potentials of young people in Nigeria, he stated that “Such will help all concerned to stay proactive in knowing what to do at every point in time. ISERT has really done well in this regard and deserves to be highly commended”.
